Mumbai: Sept 30:  Vivekanand English Pre-Primary and Primary School organized rally involving toddlers, parents and teachers in Kurla East highlighting Swachh Bharat Abhiyan as part of the upcoming Gandhi Jayanti celebrations. Students were dressed as freedom fighters like Gandhiji, Subhash Chandra Bose, Jhansi Ki Rani, etc. They also organized skits highlighting the life and work of Gandhi and spread the message of cleanliness and making our country clean. The students raised slogans, creating awareness in the vicinity on the need for keeping our country clean.

Mrs. Neelam A. Kanojia, Headmistress, Vivekanand English Pre-Primary and Primary School said: “The programme was conducted to give a leg-up to the Swachh Bharat campaign being undertaken by the government. Today’s children are tomorrow’s citizens. So it is essential to instill a sense of civic sense and duty among them. We are happy to see that there was a great turnout for the rally. More than 400 students, parents and teachers participated in the event.”

Shri Amar Asrani, Managing Trustee, Vivekanand Education Society said: “We at VES always undertake social events and initiatives as part of our commitment towards the society. Teachers personally take care to inculcate the values, discipline and habit of giving back to society and community along with primary Education. Events like this definitely help our future generation to emerge as responsible citizens.”
